Rabbit Trail: Natural Pools

You know when you’re researching “chicken manure application” and then one of the websites you’ve visited has this gorgeous click-bait picture of a natural pool off to the side . . . no? Hasn’t happened to you? Just me, then.

Well, I went down the rabbit trail.

Who could resist, right?

According to my non-extensive research, a “natural pool” is basically a beautifully designed pond with deliberate aeration added to keep the water clear. The plants at the edge act to filter the water and keep down algae. And make it look wonderful! No harsh chemicals necessary. Can you imagine swimming in your backyard surrounded by these lovely rushes and lily pads?!

love, Anita
